About The Awards
The Bristol, Somerset and Wiltshire wedding awards were launched in 2013 by the founders of The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation in support of their wonderful charity. Originally, the focus of the awards was simply on the Bristol and Somerset area, but changing hands in 2018 to Meghan Keates and Victoria Barrett, owners of The Wedding Emporium, the awards then expanded to include areas on the county borders and then from 2020 including all Wiltshire and surrounding business owners.
The awards were established to recognise and show appreciation to the amazing level of talent within the wedding industry and help raise more awareness and money for the awards chosen charity, The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation. Not only are entrants given the chance to donate to the charity when entering their business for the awards, also, during the awards evening there will be a raffle and auction for the charity. Now, after 6 years of celebrating incredible achievements for hundreds of business owners, the BSW Wedding Awards are looking forward to supporting even more businesses in the years to come. Our aim is for the awards to become a trusted symbol in the Wedding Industry.
ENTERING THE AWARDS
The BWS wedding awards is FREE to enter, but we would like to encourage and are thankful for any donations made to the Wedding Wishing Well Foundation, should you wish to, you are able to donate an amount of your choice, on your application form.
Business owners enter the awards themselves, however there is also an option for friends, family and industry peers to nominate a business that they feel deserves to be recognised. The awards team will then notify the business, let them know who (where possible) put their name forward, any comments left and then give them the chance to enter themselves.
The voting and
When entering the awards, you will be asked a number of in depth questions about your business and will also be given a chance to send in photos and a video entry.
Before entering please ensure you have watched our "Do's and Don'ts" video and read the guide to entering to ensure your entry is the absolute best it can be and really answers the questions in detail.
Brief answers that offer no insight into your business will not attract high scores.
When entries and nominations close, you will be notified if you have been successful in becoming a finalist of the awards, so please ensure that the awards email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) is added to your safe senders list and that you follow the social media pages on Facebook and Instagram.
You will have the opportunity to enter testimonials from your past couples within your entry form, they must be happy with being contacted regarding their testimonial by the awards team. Your entry will be used during the blind judging process with our panel of professional judges. All judging scores are totalled up along with feedback and this is how a winner is selected. Any categories that have many outstanding entries, a highly commended may also be awarded.
The team find this is the fairest and most genuine way to do ensuring that every business who enters has a chance of winning or receiving a highly commended.
